Places of interest are to be found in abundance within the region, including the D.Day monuments and WW2 museums, along with many beautiful Chateaux, and  exquisite gardens.  Your  privacy  and comfort are assured  in this charming  Gite, which stands in the grounds of our ancient farmhouse. Here, in 1944, a fierce battle took place, and it is still possible to see the hedgerows and fox holes from where the U.S forces were fighting. The farmhouse itself was used as a Military Hospital, and was the Command Post for the battle.

HOW TO FIND US

We are about 35 minutes drive from Cherbourg.  On leaving the ferry port take the N.13 towards Caen.  Leave the auto route at St. Mere Eglise and at the crossroads on the high street turn right, and after going under the bridge turn right and follow the road until you reach at sharp right hand bend. At a right hand fork you will see the  sign ‘Amfreville’. Take that direction and at the second right turning – and directly before the 507 Parachute memorial, you turn into Rue du Motey.   Follow the narrow track, the farmhouse is the third on the right, with the Stables entrance just along from the main gates.

We are an hour’s drive from the ferry port at Caen, and an hour and a half from Le Havre.

From Paris there is a regular train service into Carentan, which is about 20 minutes away from Amfreville
